The Origins of Zalto

For more than 150 years, six generations of the Zalto family have immersed themselves in the unique, precise and most beautiful art of glassblowing. With an ongoing quest for excellence, they have done their Venetian heritage proud, raising the standard of precision glassware in developing a world-renowned masterpiece.

Chapter 2

Venetian Roots

While mouth-blown glass dates back to Roman times, it was an art form taken on and refined during the 13th and 14th centuries at Murano in Venice. Artisans flocked to the islands to learn and compete against fellow designers. The craft was enhanced and mastered and soon an expansive market developed.

Chapter 3

A New Beginning

While the Zalto family continued their craft through the 1980s and 1990s, all the decades of hard work began to be shaped into a product that would impact the family far beyond the borders of Austria. In the early 2000s, years were spent perfecting a series of never-before-seen glasses. Zalto worked with an Austrian priest and wine expert, Father Hans Denk. Out of this reciprocal collaboration came the 2006 Denk’Art collection. This has taken Zalto glasses to the pinnacle of the world stage.

Beyond its title of wine glass, it is a work of art. Its beauty is in its simplicity.

Chapter 4

On the World Map

This handcrafted, luminous glass gained immediate popularity among wine connoisseurs. Described as the world’s most coveted stemware, it marries elegance with function. Beyond its title of wine glass, it is a work of art. Its beauty is in its simplicity. It was the perfect receptacle for the world’s best wines to be admired and enjoyed.
